Dr. Martin Katz

After graduating from a Family Medicine residency, Dr. Katz moved to Charlottesville where he joined a family practice that afforded him the time to pursue his interests, which included volunteering at the Free Clinic and getting actively involved in the triathlon community. Martin's love for physical activity and triathlons lead to pursuing a fellowship in Sports Medicine. After completion of the fellowship, he continued to search for the right opportunity, always having an eye on returning to Charlottesville. The opportunity at wellnessMD presented itself and Martin came on board to help establish the practice and meld his love for activity with preventive medicine.

In many circles Martin would be considered an 'evangelist' for preventative medicine. It is this zeal for sustainable solutions to people's ailments and injuries that best aligns Martin with wellnessMD.

Dr. Katz completed his undergraduate degree in 1992 from the College of Charleston in Charleston, SC. He received his medical degree in 1996 from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. He completed his internship and residency in 1999 in Family Medicine at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. He completed his fellowship in Sports Medicine at Richland Memorial in Columbia, SC in 2006. Dr. Katz is certified in Family Medicine.
